Children at Mullendore Elementary School

Our Mullendore Elementary program began in fall 2007 after the school principal contact LNFI and requested a program be added to his school's campus.

This is a special program, as all of the children enrolled are boys.  Students are specially selected by their teachers, principals, and counselors for the program; they are those considered possibly "at-risk" and in need of special attention.  Mentors attend this facility as well, where they assist the children in the activities of the day, as well as build powerful student-mentor relationships with them.

Daily activities include character lessons, homework assistance, math enrichment activities, mentoring, teambuilding activities, and a healthy afternoon snack.  Because all of the students are boys, there is a strong focus on the importance of working well with others and dealing with anger and aggression.  Through a partnership with Richland Hills Church of Christ and St. Paul Presbyterian, the students have loving mentors at the center each day, as well as class book sets provided by RHCC for our reading activities.
