Since 2004, Love Never Fails International has hosted a yearly camp at Camp Carter in Fort Worth for the at-risk children in our programs.
This facility has hundreds of acres of outdoor fun including rock climbing, canoeing, archery, swimming, hiking, horse back riding, and much more.
Every summer LNFI takes close to 100 children to a four-day camp. The children are served three meals a day and have their own bed to sleep in. For most of these children, having a bed of their own is the best part of camp.
Volunteers serve as counselors and provide much needed love and support for the children. At Camp Carter 2009, our theme was Fear Not. It was a wonderful time for the children and their mentors to get away from their hectic lives. The children were able to relax and share what their greatest fears were and felt encouraged to know that love and relationships can remove fear. The children had a wonderful time climbing the rock wall, canoeing, fishing, and swimming.
In addition to these great activities, cabins worked on fun, teambuilding games again this year. The children were also engaged and entertained with our guest speaker, Chagy the Clown, who performed illusions, juggled, and taught powerful life lessons through his performances. The children shared during nightly cabin talks and were loved and encouraged by their counselors and fellow teammates. There were 80 children and 40 adults at camp this year!
We would like to thank our faithful partners and those that donated to LNFI for helping us make this life changing camp a reality again this year!
Special thanks to BNSF Railway and to the individual donors who have so generously for these children. |
